Our Cover Story
The first chapter of the Bible orders how creation of life was formed and what purpose God’s creation serves. Genesis 1 is our first foundational blueprint to food, water, space, and cover. It doesn’t get more reputable than that.
Not that God’s word needs any reassurance, but in any environmental publication these elements (food, water, space, and cover) are deemed as necessary for any wildlife population to reach full potential. With that being said, here is a look into who we are.
“UNDERCOVER COUNTRY” Is a statement for the ultimate gamekeeper who tries endlessly to perfect tried and true land management practices. This apparel is sure to start a conversation that only true country folks will understand but many will be drawn to. Tucked in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, every item we brand gives a tip of the cap not only to cover but all aspects of the outdoors whether it’s ground, water, or sky. It tells a story of the harvest, the chase, and all around ways to better manage land. Our brand most importantly represents that all followers of Christ are covered by the blood shed on the cross, and we will always have living hope through knowing Him.
Growing up in the Mountains and having the chance to study forestry and wildlife was an unbelievable opportunity. These experiences have given this brand a different way of thinking when it comes to outdoor themed apparel. It is more than just plopping a fish, turkey, or giant buck on our products. It is a simple message that conveys harvesting, managing, and storytelling.
Why do people mow their fields in hopes of attracting turkey and then wonder why poult recruitment is down the following year?
Can we explain why prescribed fire is one of the most beneficial land management tools we have?
Can an avid deer hunter name 5 perennial or annual plants native to their region that are vital for quality deer growth?
We can’t hang these questions on the wall. We can’t have our picture made with them. We can’t put them in our freezer. What we can do is dedicate ourselves to understanding a few simple concepts as land managers. These concepts make a huge difference that impact our objectives revolving around wildlife.
Oftentimes, folks put all the attention on the size of a buck, length of a turkey beard, or weight of a bass. We can all relate to those amazing polaroid moments with friends and family. However, stepping outside of the crosshairs and looking at the process that leads to our end result will give us a better appreciation of the way of life we enjoy. Just remember, it doesn't take much to uncover what it means to be “country.”
